THE BARBIZON HOTEL

The Barbizon Hotel was a women-only residential hotel on the corner of 63rd Street and Lexington Avenue in New York City. From 1927 to 1981, it was home to women pursuing careers in the arts, publishing, fashion, and entertainment, including Grace Kelly, Sylvia Plath, Joan Didion, and Liza Minnelli. This project reimagines the Barbizon as a contemporary boutique hotel. Inspired by its former residents, the brand blends timeless New York elegance with the spirit of the original hotel.
